The inquiry into the Waterfall train disaster has heard the driver of the train whichderailed on January 31 had only an average driving record.
Driver 53-year-old HERMAN ZEIDES was one of seven people killed when the Tangara trainslammed into a rockface south of Sydney.
The Waterfall inquiry has today heard evidence from State Rail's crew operations manager,ROSS BOYD, who has examined Mr ZEIDES' driving record.
Mr BOYD says that during Mr ZEIDES' 27 years as a train driver, he had incurred threeSPADs -- Signal Passed At Danger.
He has explained that a SPAD is recorded when a driver passes a stop signal by any distance.
Mr ZEIDES' record shows he had passed signals at danger in 1995, 1997 and 2000.
