SA: Downer's daughter loses driver's licence
A magistrate who's been critical of Foreign Minister ALEXANDER DOWNER offered to standdown today in a case involving Mr DOWNER's daughter.
But lawyers for OLIVIA DOWNER declined the offer by magistrate BRIAN DEEGAN.
Mr DEEGAN lost his son in the Bali bombings and has since criticised the government'shandling of security warnings.
Today the magistrate convicted OLIVIA DOWNER of dangerous driving, fined her $400 andsuspended her licence for six months.
Ms DOWNER was charged when police caught her driving at 164kph in a 100kph zone inthe Adelaide Hills on April the 6th this year.
The 23-year-old did not appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court today.
