NSW: Guard faces murder charge after police no-show

A Sydney security guard's become a fugitive after failing to show up for police questioning
over the shooting death of a thief.

Police say they'll charge 42-year-old KAREN BROWN with murder after she failed to surrender
herself for interview to Liverpool police station by 6pm (AEST) today.

They say if the Rooty Hill woman can't be found, she'll be charged in her absence tomorrow
morning.

Ms BROWN allegedly shot and killed WILLIAM AQUILINA moments after he attacked her and
stole a bag of cash she was carrying out of the Moorebank Hotel last Monday.

She had told police she was too unwell to talk to them before Tuesday.

But they're annoyed she then gave two media interviews, one of which is understood
to be six figures.

Liverpool Superintendent TERRY JACOBSEN says airing any interview after criminal proceedings
commence would be contempt of court.

But Channel Seven says its story will go to air regardless of what happens.
